Property Description

A beautifully proportioned and stylishly laid out two bedroom apartment on the fourth floor of this iconic development flanked by Regents Canal and Shoreditch Park.
A 24hr concierge greets you as you enter the building and a spacious lift takes you to the fourth floor where wide hallways lead to the bright and welcoming open-plan apartment. A large kitchen/diner complete with breakfast bar, with integrated Smeg appliances and a pretty southeast facing balcony benefitting from stunning views of the Courtyard, Park and Canal. With floor to ceiling windows the excellent entertaining space is flooded with natural light. A contemporary full bathroom sits conveniently between the two similarly sized double bedrooms.
The apartment benefits from 24 hour porterage, a canal side gym and Co-Op. A short walk will take you to Old Street tube station and overground and numerous bus routes will take you into the City, West end or up to Dalston and beyond. The benefit of the Canal affords you access to London Fields and Victoria Park and Angel, Upper Street and Shoreditch are only a short walk away.
Gainsborough Studios was originally built as a Power Station for the Great Northern and City Railway it was later converted into a Film Studios, where it produced a number of popular films from 1924-1951 including several of Alfred Hitchcocks films such as The Lady Vanishes (1938). Stars such as Margaret Lockwood, James Mason, Stewart Granger, Patricia Roc, Ivor Novello and Gracie Fields also worked in the studios during this time.
In 2002 the studios were demolished and apartments designed by architects Munckenbeck and Marshall were built incorporating some walls of the original Power Station. A large sculpture of Hitchcocks head was erected in memory of the late director which resides in the courtyard serving as an early reminder of his work there.
